"Are you in the Dick Johnson camp or the Peter Brock camp? "

Sorry I am an UK expat and an Aussie and only know that Brock was the

F1 equivalent of say Nigel Mansell.

I have been told that the suspension geometry is Ford and the components

are aluminium or Al alloy and there are even some Magnesium components.

The engine is Ford, the g'box is ZF and the door actuators are stamped "Ford".

I can't tell you about the ECU and modules.

I used to live in Retford and a village near Ollerton. Notts was lovely.

Cheers

I believe that is opposite--the suspension is a Jaguar design and Ford borrowed parts of it for the Lincoln LS. No domestic Ford/Lincoln/Mercury ever used a multilink setup like the Jag has. That is entirely European in design.

I do believe Jag got help with the engine management from the corporate parts bin. Most engine sensors have Fomoco on them.

The engine is a Jaguar design. As far as the rumors go they were actually developing this engine in secret and designed the engine bays of the respective cars so narrow that the V8 from mother Ford wouldn't fit.
Ford wasn't happy with this "waste of budget", but when the Jaguar V8 showed to be clearly superior to their V8 they chose to allow it and also use it for the Lincoln LS.

Thumbs up

Smart; Doing this was a great thing from THEIR PERSPECTIVE!!!! Have to keep things as much in ones favor as possible in business decisions. Loved the 04 XJ8 so much, bought an 07 V D P, when i saw what the dealer would take for it. The 04 is in great running shape now, with just a few minor things yet to do be done. Hate to start on, or have two similar projects going, before the first one is wrapped up. But deals way too often happen when one is not looking. And you kick yourself in the backside, for not moving on it, when the prices go up, and the supply goes down. With any luck, we will have two beautiful, almost new Jaguars, for less than any one new small car available, for less.
