Built in Navigation avoid Highway?

Built in Navigation avoid Highway?
I'm not a big highway driver and every GPS I have owned has had the option to avoid highways but I can not find this on the built in one on the car. I have the newest map disc but can not see this option. Can you set the GPS to avoid highways? Thanks
