Default Buttons on Steering Wheel not Functioning

Hi All,

Recently all of the buttons on the steering wheel have stopped working on our 2006 XJR. Volume buttons, cruise control, horn are all not working. I have checked several fuses but none were bad that I have found so far. Turn signal, lights, wiper controls all work, it's just the buttons. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue before and if you did what was the cause.

Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.

Probably a clock spring fault-maybe just needs a clean.

Remove plastic 'box' behind steering wheel to access.

If the problem is the ribbon then you just need to replace the "indicator cancelling cassette" which has the ribbon in it. I did this a couple of weeks ago. it cost me $100 (Australian) and came from the UK.

Thank you for the replies. This has given me the information I needed to get better search results on how to do this. I will post my results once I get a chance to get it apart to look at it closer.
