'04 4.2. I'm redoing the timing, and am in need of a good instruction on setting the VVT.
The problem: I want to be sure the VVT is set properly for reassembly. All I can find is "make sure it is in the fully retarded position."
How would one do that? There must be a resource, somewhere. The million-page shop manual doesn't really get into it, to my surprise.
Can someone suggest a place to find it? Meanwhile, I'll keep searching.

Followup: After a lot of (somewhat contradictory) research, I took it apart to check it out and was surprised.
As it turns out, this newer-gen VVT unit does not require adjustment.
Luckily, it only assembles one way and is therefore relatively idiot-proof. One less part to worry about!
