Default CD Changer

To my surprise neither the cd changer in the trunk nor the cd player in the dash will read mp3's. Has anyone purchased an updated cd changer for the trunk that will play mp3's?

I'm kind of interested in this answer as well. My 2004 XJ8 didn't come with the CD Changer in the trunk but the button exists on the head unit. Is this a simple thing to install? ie. buy changed, mount in shelf in trunk, and plug into already existing run cable? Or, will I have to run the cable to the head unit from the trunk, hook up to a power source, etc? Thanks, Eric

How are you burning the CD? Using itunes I have simply created a play list and used the CD burner feature without any problems.

The wiring harness may be in the trunk under the Nav DVD, However it uses an unusual fiber optic cable as one of the connections. You would have to use the correct changer. The correct Apline changers have been on ebay.

The Alpine DHA-S690 CD changer plays MP3 tracks. I don't know whether it will work in a Jaguar. It costs $500-700.

When you say "work in a Jaguar," if you mean you can plug it into the existing wiring and have it integrate with the rest of the electronics, the answer is no. You need the correct cd changer for the X350, then it should be plug and play. You may or may not have to have the changer enabled by the dealer or someone with IDS/SDD. As far as I know, none of the X350/X358 cd players will read mp3's. If you want that capability you need an ACM.
