Exclamation Changed leaky front passenger shock and car sits overnight

Just like the title says, i changed my front passenger side air shock on my 04 xj8 and now the car sits in front over night. The strut is a rebuilt like new shock. Is it possible that i did something wrong during installation?

The front end drops down noticeably. When i park the car at night and come back in the morning is when it happens. No problems when i am using it throughout the day and no air suspension fault message comes up as it did before i changed the bad passenger side shock. But now when i goto my car in the morning, it looks like a 70's drag racer with the rear up but the front down! lol

Slow air leak I should say; the obvious culprit is air line union at the top of the unit that was replaced ... ?

How low is it sitting? If the car is sitting more than an hour it will go to rest height and the car will drop about an inch in the front. If it's more than that I would check all the air line connections and the other strut as well.

I have a feeling that its the drivers side shock showing its age because when i jacked up the drivers side to change the brake pads, the shock made some hissing sounds.

It wasn't likely the shock--the suspension exhausts air through the pump which is located in the driver's side (left hand) bumper. When you jack it up, the car doesn't immediately go into jacking mode, first it tries to adjust itself then it stops when it realizes it's being lifted.

So I did some more investigating and I hear air leaking from the hose fitting on the new passenger side front shock that I just installed! During installation, i fitted the new o ring to the hose before installing, and upon tightening the hose bolt, it seems that it turned the entire fitting after fully tightening. Is this a problem?

Did you ever figure out exactly what went wrong? I may need to install new shocks myself, so if there's a trick to it, I'd like to know.
