Hello All,

I have been looking into putting a new battery into my 2009 XJ. I have noticed on Interstates website, advanced auto parts, etc all give me size of T8 for a Super V8. But for a normal XJ8 of similar years it is saying to use a H8. What is the correct size from the factory? Was a different battery used for the supercharged vs NA vehicles? I see my car was originally built with a 90ah battery.

What is the difference between the T8 and H8? Is the T8 taller than the H8?

The workshop manual specifies 90Ah and a minimum of 680CCA for all gasoline engines options on the X350/8

 

Never noticed a T8. H8 is normal stock.
Switched to AGM from Advance Auto Parts. By ordering online a H8 AGM is 150.00.
Read here that a calcium battery is better for XJ. Five years so far on an AGM.

 

I bought the same battery today. Did yours come with a battery vent tube plug for the negative terminal/side? My original OEM (manufactured the 23rd week of 2008) had a plug for the negative side vent. But this new one from advanced auto parts does not.

Btw for anyone looking for a new battery the H8 is the correct size, they lined up perfectly to my original.
