Hello
My check engine light turned on. When I went to connect the port nothing happened. I checked the fuse and it's fine but I swapped it just in case. Since the diagnostic tool is new I plugged into another car to make sure it wasn't defective Worked fine.

Any suggestions

was the ignition on position 2?

 

Also, not every tool actually works fully or supports all cars so which tool?
