Indeed, many thanks. I think this has been suspected for quite a time, but no actual fitment has been reported on this forum.

Default Hope lower are the same also.

All the rubber suspension parts on my 2006 XJR are falling apart. Some were replaced by the previous owner.
Looked at the rear lower control arm bushings from DP. But feedback was poor. Sounded like cracked stock were as tight as new DP bushings.
Why does the rubber on a Jaguar fail so quickly? I have another car with Lenfoeder parts and most are fine after ten years.

All this begs the question:

Are the lower rear control arms the same as well?

The answer to that is a definite NO, and then also a maybe.

The x350 R and S type R rear lower arms are stamped with the letters "SC".

So obviously they are probably built to withstand a higher torque level, these lower rear arms hold most of the rear suspension components in place so to risk putting non R arms would be silly.

Furthermore, replacing the entire rear lower arms would be silly because they are UBER expensive and bushing replacements can be had for a fraction of the cost.

I just replaced all my bushings on those arms while updating the entire system. So it can and has been done plenty of times.

I removed my arms and went to 4 local shops, none of which would replace the bushings because they said they did not have the correct tools for the press. So if you plan to take the arms out and have them pressed (the logical thing to do), make sure you have a shop that can and will do it. It is a pain in the *** to put the arms back on with ruined bushings only to take them off again later... Ask me how I know.

The maybe comes in with the non R versions, in that case I would suspect the arms for the Lincoln would fit, but again bushings are cheaper.

Don't forget that these bushings go in and out much easier when the wishbone is heated up a bit with a kettle of boiling water. This is because being made of aluminium, they expand twice as much as a steel part at the same temperature. The bushes have steel outers, although I'm not too sure about the one Silentbloc-type bush in the rear lower wishbone. Having said that, these last a whole lot longer than the ball-type bushes.

Yes, The lower control arms fit the XJ8, even with the SC (the replacement part has SC on it). I replaced mine 6 or 8 weeks ago. (thanks to this thread). What a hugh difference in ride & handling. Cheapest & easiest route without a press.

RockAuto:
2004 JAGUAR S-TYPE 4.2L V8
LEMFORDER3063701 (30637 01)Control Arm$ 278.79
LEMFORDER3063801 (30638 01)Control Arm$ 278.79

I hope to get the uppers done by the end of summer. They should be easier too.

If only the shock bushing would just slide out.

They almost slide out if boiling water is poured over the wishbone as it expands the aluminium clenching the bush. However some degree of pressure is still needed, and to avoid damaging the softer aluminium of the wishbone, it is best to have the correct mandrel and a press to push out the old bush, and push the new one in. Damage to the wishbone must be avoided to prevent cracks from forming in service.
