Angry Driver side rear view mirror issue.

On my 2004 xj8 when I remotely unlock the car and start the ignition the drivers side rear view mirror points down and will not return to the normal position when the car is put in drive. The passenger side mirror points down as well when backing but does not point as far down and puts itself in the proper position when the drive gear is engaged. HELP

I fear you may have to live with the demons
I had a similar problem six months ago, then it disappeared miraculously three months ago, then came back two weeks ago just once, then disappeared again.

Good luck!

Ah, so, the driver's side mirror going down on reverse is programmable (I know because I have done it myself). In other words, if you have access to the IDS/SDD software (via Jag dealer or indy) you can ask them to set the driver's side mirror NOT to go down when the gear is put in reverse. It is an alternative that may be worth pursuing.
