Electrical Gremlins
I am having an intermittant issue with my cruise control. I have a 2007 VDP. Sometimes I will get the error message "cruise not available". It has happened twice while driving and many times as soon as the car is turned on. If it happens at start-up I also get a DCS not available and the windshield wipers will "jump" a couple inches up the window. Even with the DCS warning, the light with the car and squiggly lines does not light up on the dash. I do not have the adaptive cruise, just the standard. I am assuming the cruise, DCS and wipers are connected somewhere in the electrical system and hope that can help me track the problem down.
Anyone have any ideas? I have already disconnected the battery and the problem came back.

Best to get the codes read first.
Cruise and DSC need road speed data which it gets from an ABS sensor.
Possible wiring fault on sensor,a sensor on the way out or just needs cleaning.
Do you have snow, this can interfere with ABS (just when you really need it!!)
WRT wipers possible mechanism problem or is it very cold now?

Meiron, we have had a lot of snow and it has been below zero fahrenheit the last few weeks when this has been happening. I will get the codes read, but I hope it is just something that will go away when winter is over.
I already have to live with the vehicle dying on warm restarts with winter blend fuel. I fight it every year between about December and March. It always goes away come spring. Just a finicky car I guess.
