Unhappy Engine system fault,Dsc not available,Parkbrake fault,,HELP

What a day , i was almost one block away from my office when i felt my acceleration sluggish. thats when i saw my dash lite up like a christmas tree. it had the messages " engine system fault", "dsc not available" and " parkbrake fault" on my dash, as well as the red and amber lights on.

the car went on limp mode, which was very scary also. i tried to head back to my Jag dealer, but it stalled again, so i got it towed.

My Jag dealer said it might be a weak battery as it is 6 years old now. and that he had to download a updated software . but they still werent sure why these codes are on. he suspects a short on a wire.

I ve read several post on these codes, and they seem to say it mught be Tcm or Ecm issues.
is there a TSB or a recall on this??i have to say that i havent driven the car a whole lot ,my car is always parked outside and it has been raining for several days here and very humid, can this cause the connecters to have moisture?

I d really like an idea of what is causing this so my dealer doesnt waste time on trouble shooting.

thanx in advance,

Could have been the battery, weak electric will throw codes. At that age, you definitely needed a battery. If the problem goes away, then that was your solution.

But it could also be something else, like TPS or PPS. Do you have the codes?

Thanx for the reply. i have no codes yet , dealer will work on it on tuesday.
one thing i omitted to mention is that i have a satellite auto theft tracking system in my car ( Boomerang). i recently was told by them that the signal from system was weak. after verification they said that the back up battery pack was weak, and was drawing current from my already weak car battery.

Today one of my good buddies, a former Jag tech suggested this could be the cause of my multiple error codes, and as you stated the battery is due for replacement.

I will wait and see what my Jag dealer tells me on Tuesday.

any other suggestions will be appreciated.

This has come up before. Changing the battery seems to fix this usually. Otherwise, you could be looking at a throttle body. Don't worry, this problem is common and will get solved!

Got the call this morning from my Jag manager, he said my battery needed changing as it was over 6 years old. this removed all the 3 error messages. yet the service engine icon was still lit.
after an obd code of P2523, it will need a new throttle body ......almost $900.00.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

lets just hope this will fix all!

thanx,
wil lkeep you guys updated

Just came back from picking up my leaper and here is the damages.
firstly the battery needed to be replaced. this removed all the 3 error codes. but the engine service icon was still on. when they plugged ids they received code P2135, means throttle body to ecu fault. needed to replace complete throttle body.
they also downloaded updated software.
car runs great !
but at a cost of$1435.00.......i feel like i need to take a shower.

I had a similar problem as suddenly all the screen "Consul Screen" started to fluctuate On/Off . the check Engine light went on, then many messages came as every thing has failed.

After investigating, I found that the battery was dead causing all these faults. Thank God I had the radio code, so I replaced the battery and entered the code and everything worked just fine.
