My city smog test requires the emergency brake to be applied, drive gear engaged and foot off the brake with rpm increased (just slightly) to see if vehicle moves while emergency brake is applied and in gear.
Quick question: How do I overcome the auto release of the EPB when either the drive gear is engaged or the EPB applied while in drive and then the engine rpm increased using the accelerator pedal? From what I understand of the system, the EPB will release either when
i) the gear shift if moved to 'R' or 'D' or;
ii) if applied with gear in 'D' when the accelerator pedal is depressed.

Any suggestions?

You pull up and hold up while youre driving. It will lock up the rear tires eventually, just not controlled or in a manner fast enough to drift the car
