Exclamation Fault secundairy air pump

Hi all,

For some time i have problems with the secundairy air pump.
It was full aff water and did not turn.
I replaced the pump, relais end secundairy air valve.
The fault code P 4222 comes back and the pump will not run.
If i test it directly the pump runs.
Reais is also working ifvtested outside the car.
The negative wire has no connection to ground.
If i disconnect the vacuum valve another fault code appears.
To me it seems the relais is not getting a signal so that the pump swiches on.
Can anybody help how to diagnose further?

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Leon

I think you are on the right track. It appears your pump seized, grounded out and drew too much power. So check relevant fuse(s) and relay. After that wiring.

Thanks for answering.
Today i have learned from the workshop manual that there is an in line fuse between the fuse box engine compatement en the relais of the pump.
Do you know where this one is located or do i need to remove the whole bumper agin for acces?
It is a fuse of 40 amps and could be the reason of the problem.

Hi,

it would be helpful if you could specify what car you have (engine type, year, etc). Maybe you could add the details to your signature?

Best regards,

Thomas

At this moment when I connect 3 and 5 from relais the pump starts running.
This part is ok.
pin 1 from relais does not get 12v
Fuse 27 is ok
on scheme the relais is controlled by ECU, I don’t know how to test this circuit???

any suggestions?

Hi all,
Problem is solved after checking all and even removing ecu the fault was found in the connector from the relais secundary airpump.
The positive wire was burned inside the connector.
I have learned that floating fuse no. 2 does not excist.
In the manual pge 79 car 2006 there is a fuse but it's only on paper.
Thanks for all reply's
