Filling with fuel issues
Did some searching and did not find much on this issue for the x350 - When filling with fuel the pump cuts off every 2-3 seconds making it take an eternity to put even 10 gallons in the car. Pretty sure its hitting the auto shut-off as if the tank were full but its clearly not. Want to get this rectified before winter, no fun taking 20-25 minutes to fill the car with gas. I assume its related to an evap or vent sensor/solenoid, but hoping someone has dealt with this before and can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.
Happens to me once in a while, but not all the time, somehow. I've had to adjust the positioning of the filler nozzle as it sits in the neck, just turn it a bit one way or the other, or even back it out an inch or so, still past the little hole it goes through. (If you're not old enough to remember leaded fuel at the pumps, that hole is a leftover from the conversion to lead-free gasoline. Pumps for lead-free had a smaller nozzle than pumps for leaded gas, so the nozzle for leaded gas would not go into the filler neck. Using leaded fuel in a car with catalytic converters destroys the catalyst, so that's how they prevented it at the time.)

No solution from me, but this started happening to me every single time over a year ago, at least I don't recall having this issue before. I've tried repositioning the nozzle, but nothing worked so far. It is annoying, but I've come to accept it, and the key for me is not being able to tell when the tank is full, so I now estimate based on price or number of gallons and sometimes I turn the key on and watch the gas needle from the rear as I pump gas.

Hopefully somebody has a solution. Has to be a vent issue of some sort.
Yea, that's what I'm thinking. I'll have to go through the manual and figure something out. Was hoping it was one of those common Jag issues but I guess not.

I theorise that you could try inserting the nozzle upside down. To help keep the venturi clear.
Once you have mastered how to put gas in your car, we can move on to, oh I dunno, ZF transmissions...

Gave it another shot last night and couldn't find a position that would work, even upside down. Did manage to fill the tank, but it took about 20 minutes.
Looked through JTIS and apparently the charcoal canister is on top of the fuel tank, great design. Looks like the tank and subframe would have to be removed to get to it. The purge valve is easier to get to, but not sure if that would cause this issue.
