Good Tire Deal at NTB
Replace all four Conti’s that were OEM for Pirelli P Zero Nero’s at NTB. I originally wanted another set of Conti’s, but they had trouble sourcing 4 as they are being phased out according to him and they wouldn’t be able to do their warranty if he could get for. I guess the 235-50-18 is a rare size and they had the P Zero’s in stock. I have been hesitant to use Pirelli’s, being known to be noisy. Noisy tires are an absolute “no-no” on Luxury cars like the VDP or any convertible.
He the manager felt bad for my situation as he drove an hour to get the 4th Conti that ended up being damaged. The deal he gave was four P Zero Nero’s mounted & balanced, 4 wheel alignment, 1 year full warranty- prorated from there for under $700!I was surprised on the alignment sheet how well this car has stayed aligned to 80K driving in metro Boston. It never felt out of alignment, but it was warranted with new tire install. I have to replace a bottom shock tower busing in the rear. Will that offset my alignment?
No opinion on the P Zero’s yet. Haven’t been on the highway yet or above 50. My boulevard impression is much better grip, especially during braking. The steering is a little stiffer and the side wall is much stiffer than the Conti’s. Granted this is coming from swapping Dunlop M3 snow’s for the last 5 months.

Meh, the standard Contis and/or suspension is already a little too stiff for my taste in a large luxury sedan.
I will probably replace mine with Yoko Avid TRZ when I get a chance. ($$)!
