Default Has anyone ever performed a fuel service?

My dealership has tried to talk me into performing a fuel service every time I bring my vehicle in for service. Is it worth it? They want $399....

It includes the following..
-Fuel induction service
-Fuel injector cleaning
-Throttle body cleaning
-Update engine management software
-Inspect air and fuel filters
-Top off all fluids and set tire pressure

Jaguar issued several TSBs for some of the issues.
You might want to tell them that Jaguar issued a TSB prohibiting throttle cleaning. (TSB XJ303-10 Electronic Throttle Body – Cleaning Prohibited)

Sounds like the service advisors are offered an 'incentive' to UP-SELL.

Thanks!! Glad I posted now.

Will a fuel induction or fuel injector cleaning be okay? If so, is it really needed or should I just replace the fuel filter use high quality gas and not worry?

Thanks again!!

If it is running with no real issues, but if you just want to be pro active.
You could put in double the amount of injector cleaner with a fill up of high test.
That is what i did on mine, but you decide for yourself.

I'm sure a dose of fuel injector cleaner in the tank won't hurt but Jaguar did recommend a 'fuel injector cleaning' procedure for faults.(not routine service)

See XJ303-05 Rough Idle/Hesitation – Contaminated Fuel Injectors – Cleaning Procedure for info on tools, tips and techniques.
