90,000 service
I've a 2005 S-Type 3. It has about 92,000 miles. I'm unable to perform any maintance myself.
Yesterday I received a postcard from the dealer suggesting the following maintance scheme:
Oil & filter
Wynn's brake flush
Wynn's fuel injector and induction cleaning
Wynn's coolant system flush
Tire rotation
Air filter
Inspect brakes
Install engine & fuel protection kit ( what is this?)
Lub & inspect front suspension
Inspect drive belts, tires, hoses
Complete visual safety inspection service
Wynn's battery service
Top off fluids
The price quoted is "starting at $699.95"
Is all this stuff needed...or worth it?

Jim posted the maintenance schedule for our cars just the other day- there's very little that lines up between what your dealer is offering and what Jag suggests. Many of the items may also be overdue or not yet due on your car- are you aware of the past history?
We bought the car with about 47,000 miles on it and have maintained it per the book...with one exception. I say that as I've always kept things according to the book but I seem to recall that this "package" got sold to me at 60,000 miles. That's what made me curious.
That sounds really expensive with a majority of it being them just looking at it and telling you its ok or need replacing. Wonder which one they will tell you. Fuel filter is very easy DIY and so is the oil change. The fuel injector / induction cleaner and the engine cleaner is probably some snake oil additive they will throw in your gas or oil.
I'm very much in favour of looking but can you not find someone you trust to do it cheaper if you can't DIY? I spend longer at each service hunting for problems in the making than the actual service really takes.
If they changed the fuel filter at 60K it's probably still OK (would be, here, as fuel is generally very clean) but it's also easy DIY and a cheap part.
