Default Headliner advice please!

Hello all,

My 2004 XJ8's headliner is sagging around the edges/pillars of the rear windshield.

A shop in the LA area is quoting me $380 for replacing the headliner, not including the sunroof/visors/pillars.

(The sunroof fabric was replaced a few years ago so that's still in good shape. The visors have some very minor sagging too, so I might get those done as well. The pillars look fine...)

Is $380 a good deal? Also, is there anything I should watch out for or get done at the same time? I am not very familiar with car repair/upkeep...

Any advice/tips are much appreciated.

I DIY the head liner on my 1997 Jag. There were actually lots of work. Scraping of old glue and foam, clean, glue, cut etc. $380.00 is not bad. There are four airbags along the edge and occupant sensor at the center of the 2004's headliner. Make sure who ever redo the headliner knows what they are doing.

This place was recommended by a body shop I worked with before, Golden Hammer, in West LA. Interesting side note, they actually recommended 2 places, but one of them said they don't to headliners anymore because the city fines them $500 if they use "the right glue"... Apparently, due to where they are located, they can only use water based glue and the results are not good.

I had my 2004 headliner done by a shop in San Diego, $350 no pillars, but included sun roof (which was the worst looking part). And they did a wonderful job.

No removal of the rear window, which some places will say is required. PM if you want me to track down the name, I had it done through the SD dealer....which you could also use to get to them.

My sunroof went first, about a year and a half ago, so I had that done already. And, surprise surprise, the back some falling. Oh well!

Thank you ItsMyXJR, but I don't think I can justify driving down to SD from LA for this
