Default Help! engine won't start, need to get it out of anti-theft mode.

In the process of trying to fix the fuel gauge in a 05 Jag VDP, I managed to get the vehicle into the anti-theft mode. The engine cranks but no start. The fuel pump does not come on during the initial key on / eng. off and the OBDII port does not respond. All the fuse are good.
Tried the hard hard reset, no change. Is there a trick?

The OBD port remains active so check its wiring, fuses, pins etc. Something simple must be wrong.

What's the PATS light doing - watch it for 2-3 mins after key to ign II / trying to start. Sounds like you should get a code (count flashes).

Watched the lights under the tach, the amber and red light, both light stay on steady, no blinking. Also the check engine light is on.

Is the fuel pump control from the body control module or the ecm?

Isn't there a technical bulletin for this issue? I am sure I remember seeing one somewhere? Maybe do a forum search or a google search.. It may pop up.

The reset for a tripped system is outlined in the electrical section of the repair manual (section 418). It's too long or I would have copied and pasted it here.

You can download the manual for free in the "How To" sticky.
