I want to remove the F&R bumper amber reflector inserts on my XJ (X350) and replace with U.S spec side marker lights (red at the rear and amber at the front).

If there are any auto electricians out there, or anyone that has done this I could user a pointer or two.

I'm told I need to replace the existing F&R bumper wiring harnesses and replace with a new ones. These come to just over £110 and I'm wondering if the lights can be connected to the side lights (i.e. connecting with a single wire from each unit) without all the faffing about of harness replacement.

All 4 light units come in at just over £100, which I can live with - Any comments gratefully accepted.
