Default How do you detach trans oil cooler lines?

I have searched for this however cannot find the answer.

Today I changed the oil and filter in my 2005 XJR and while I was under the car
checked out the transmission cooler lines.

I want to detach the lines where they enter the transmission. How is this accomplished?

I have seen pics of the actual lines out of the car and the ends look as if they are a press fit with two O rings on the male "plug" that goes in to the transmission.

The reason I want to do this is to flush the transmission oil cooler radiator when I do a transmission fluid change in about a month.

I was wondering the same but haven't looked yet. I'm used to the screw in type.

I am used to the screw in type as well.

Searching on-line I see adapters available for this transmission that take screw on hose fittings and they are held in place by a flat clamp that is screwed on to the transmission housing.

Considering that I want to flush the trans oil cooler is it easier to access the lines where they go into the radiator?

I probably will pull stuff apart to look.

There is a plate(2) that retains the lines(3) to the transmission. It is held by a single bolt(1) rearward of the lines. Torque for this bolt is 10Nm
