How to Remove your Headlights 2004 XJR
Hi all, so I am posting this to be helpful. Recently bought an 2004 XJR and the knucklehead before sprayed clear coat over the front lenses. A common bonehead move. Rather than sand them on the car, I wanted to remove the entire lense and do the job on the bench. I searched the net HIGH AND LOW for a how too without success so seeing as I hit pay dirt I thought I would post it here. I got the data from a local shop with access to the Jaguar back end. This was an ultra basic operation but not before I lost my mind removing wind sheild washer tanks and other pointless things. That aside this was a quick and easy job and once you purchase the DRILL MOUNTED 3M headlight restoration kit, you are in for a treat as the end result in unreal.
To remove the headlight lense assembly there are 3 10mm bolts Open the hood. remove the plastic shroud above (engine compartment) and below (under cowling) the bumper. Then under the right and left front part of the wheel well there is a torqx head bolt holding the bumper on. Remove that and then (for instance on the right side) and then pull outward (pull towards the passengare side of the car IE right side) and there are 3-4 plastic clips that pop out. Just like a snap together model. Very simple. Once the one side is down you will have access to the two lower 10MM bolts. easily remove them, remove the idiot proff plug and take the headlight out for refinishing.
Attached please see before and after pics and feel free to hit me with any questions.
I hope this helps to save time that I wasted.
NOW HERE IS THE REAL QUESTION..... HOW DO I ADD PICS TO THIS POST? SO YOU CAN SEE THE BEFORE AND AFTER

Hey...when you post you will see a paperclip in the icons above the dialog box. Click on that and you can attach pics. I think you can do the old copy and paste thing too.
1. from Quick Reply, hit the Go Advanced button:

2. in the Reply to Thread menu, click on Attachments:

3. in the dialogue box, click on Browse button and navigate to the folder where you've put the pics:

4. click the Upload button - it may take a while depending on pic size and internet connection:

5. click on Attachments button again and the file you've uploaded is
there:

6. click on the file to insert it into your post:

Repeat for further pics.
