How to "turn off" XJ8 air suspension system?
Yesterday a tire/brakes dealer would not put my 2004 XJ8 onto a lift, because he said he did not know how to "turn off the air suspension system." He was concerned about damaging it. Nobody ever has told me that before.
How can the air suspension system be turned off?

The car is NOT like the old Lincolns that needed to have the switch in the boot to disable the air suspension. The Jaguar will compensate and adjust itself when the wheels are back on the ground.

I think Jaguar engineers foresaw that some owners might have to jack the car up ocasionally to change a wheel, they are surely not stupid, and there IS a jack and wheel spanner in the car to do this, so why would one ever need to disable the air suspension to change tyres ? Sounds like you tyre dealer needs to get a life ! Have they never had a Range Rover in with air suspension ?
