I've had great success with Michelins on our mini-vans, Honda and Nissan, regularly getting over 60,000 miles on a set. But the higher-performance versions I've had on our Jags have not seemed worth the extra expense compared to the Yokohamas that have performed so well for us. Same for the Pirellis and Bridgestones. We put a lot of miles on our cars, so saving one to two hundred dollars (or more) with each tire change adds up over time.

Cheers,

Don

Much improved handling, ride and much lower noise from the Conti-Pro's that were on it when i bought it.
I despise those Conti Pros. when you get down to 50-60 percent you are riding are hard rubber. The noise is unacceptable and it makes a Jaquar ride like a truck. lol.

Kind of an old thread but I just bought a set of Sumitomo LSVs. They replaced Conti Pros on the front and P Zeros on the rear. So far, they ride a lot smoother and seem to handle fairly well. I got them a Merchants Tires since they had a buy 3, get 1 free sale on.

I can also attest to the General Tire AltiMAX RT43 as an all weather touring tire to replace the Conti. Great value at around $125.00 per tire. Best wet traction tire I could find. One of the quietest 65,000 mile V rated tires. Rated 5th overall out of 34 touring tires tested on TireRACK, and beats out many that are considerably higher in price like the Bridgestone and Yoko's. In the US the speed is limited by ECM to V rated speeds, and if originally equipped with Conti's H rated, the ECM is limited to 121mph. Why spend double?
