Default ICarSoft i930 Update

Hears the disclaimer- No affiliation with the manufacture.
After checking for charging issues, I went deeep into the options. This thing will almost tell me everything the car is doing between live data and some of the other options. It even told me about the time I over extended the seat travel. Best money I've spent on the car other than BT streaming and new tires. There are other options out there also, including throwing a lot of parts and money at it with alot of prayer. Thanks to all that turned me on to this.
Beware--- It might also tell you things you dont want to know. Like bad fuel trims and vaccum leaks.

Awesome, thanks for the update Mark! I keep wanting to get the original Mongoose and software, but keep coming back to the icarsoft, as I don't know if I want to deal with the headaches of the SDD.

It would be nice to have someone that has both (SDD and i930) compare the two. I do have the SDD with the real Mongoose cable and I use it sparingly. I am happy with it even though it is not easy or intuitive for sure.

The Icar will only report data, and test certain systems. The SDD I believe can also change certain settings, turn on and off various features/functions, and read certain propriatary Jag systems. Someone can chime in with SDD experiance. I am mostly concerned with data and system reporting for trouble shooting purposes, and am not really concerned about turning on/off features. Although having the abillity to check and adjust suspension systems in detail would be nice.
One of the great features of the Icar, is it will report transmision fluid temp. This will be great for the upcomming fluid change. More accurate than the IR thermometer, although the IR thermometer will get the job done.

I do not think you will get a code for a faulty parking sensor.

See my post for repair here:https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-xj6-xj8-xjr-

x350-x358-28/parking-sensor-problems-160549/

You may be able to repair ABS sensor by sustituting a good one in each position.

ie try a good one in every wheel in turn.

I find the iCarSoft i930 fine for my 2004 X350, but not so good on my 2001 XK8 and pretty hopeless on my Wife's P38 Range Rover ,even though it does Landrover and Jaguar models. I see that there's now a second generation model which apparently does a lot more than the original. I'm wondering if it would do stuff like re-set the air suspension on the Range Rover and do the live data thing on the XK8. Maybe I would be better with the Mongoose.
This is all a bit confusing to old Grease monkeys like me and a challenge to keep up but hopefully it stops the old grey matter from seizing up

I feel the same way about mine. Works wonders on mt 06 SV8, but very basic on my wifes P38. Please tell me that this doesnt mean that we have to get our wives new Range Rovers !
