Ignition barrel jammed
Yesterday thought I would give the ignition barrel a squirt of graphite grease as it was a bit sticky and unfortunately a small section of the nozzle hose from the ra has snapped off inside the cylinder, now the key will not turn!! Any ideas how to get it out?
Well if it's a section of tube and you can see it file a thin metal rod into a taper and push
it into the offending tube then pull out.
Practice on the remaining hose first.
Could be easier said than done!

We are talking about 1mm long. Can the cylinder be disconnected and flushed out upside down with contact spray??? Tried all day with a. Thin piece of copper wire to no avail., p.s. Think this might have something to do with battery drain as well as the steering lcock was not clicking off and on before but now after some graphite grease the steering lock makes the usual clunk when you insert and remove the key. Can get the key in easy enough but stops shy and does not rotate.
The service manual does show that you can remove the ignition switch assembly, but it is rather involved, too much to replicate here. If you can find a copy of the service manual it should be in there.

Is it possible to connect a compressed air line to a fine tube and blow into the key recess to remove the plastic stub?
Edit: What about a blob of blu-tac on the end of a cocktail stick?

I am concerned to put anything else inside in case it falls off too! Thought the whole barrel could come out but can't find any info. On dong that as yet, got the workshop manual online but struggling to find anything, it is 6000 pageslong
The instructions can be found beginning on p 962 of Section 2 Chassis, 211-04 Steering Column.
