Default I'm headed down a different path...

I really wanted an '06 Super V8, but after three months, I've not found one even remotely local to me, and baby beater Benz is showing its age, rapidly, so yesterday, I put a deposit on a 2005 Cadillac STS 4.6L with all the goodies but adaptive CC and the HUD. At about $9,500, it's between long-term keeper and luxury beater car. Still, gotta love 85% depreciation over MSRP for 100K miles and six years.

I hope to be back in a few years, looking to pick up info on a 2009 SV8, but for now, I'm taking the road not quite as classily traveled.

Thanks, everyone, for your help/info!

Thanks, all.

I don't have it, yet, but I've researched the crap out of this particular car, and while it has a pall over it..."LEMON BUYBACK"...I cannot find a vaild reason, so I'm proceeding. They're not getting what they're asking, but that's their problem.

I traded in a 2007 STS (basically the same car). I LOVED that car. Certainly not as classy as my Jag, but a wonderful car in it's own right.

I will say that the electronics were "smarter" on my caddy. The auto wipers/lights and such worked much better on the Caddy than they do on my Jag.

The Caddy forum is a pretty nice place as well. They figured out how to get the Nav to allow data entry while moving....

kelly - i got my wife a 2008 STS and she absolutely loves it. i drove it for a week while i was trying to get some cosmetic blemishes buffed out and it drives really nice. mind you, it have the 3.6 liter V-6, direct injection...got very envious when i got to fill it with regular and not premium like in my jag! but i'm also a little "fluffy" so i missed the roominess of the jag seat! you'll enjot it! swear i'll get a STS v series if my jag gives me any more headaches (i'll still keep my '83 series III though)!!!!

Kelly, best of luck with your next adventure. I took a few different roads for several years but now I'm back looking for another Jag.
You'll probably be back,... sooner,... or later!
All the best with your acquisition!
John
