Default Interior cabin filter replacement

Anyone have info on changing the cabin air filter on a 2004 XJR?

Thanks,

Hi Kyle,
I have an '04 VDP....I recently bought two different cabin filters (Fram and one other aftermarket) and both were too small for the vehicle, even though these were the designated sizes according to the manufactuers...about 20% smaller, making them useless. If the air can escape around the filter v/s through, it will obviously be ineffective. The one I have in there now has a Ford logo on it. I assume I will have to get a factory replacement from my local dealer in order to find the correct size. Do yourself a favor and avoid any aftermarket filters! Changing is easy, as there is a compartment door under the hood against the firewall on your passanger side. Very easy to remove and replace. Good luck!

Regards,
Tim

I have a 05 VDP. I had the same issue in trying to find the correct size filter. All the auto stores showed my car taking the smaller filter. Finally, after ordering yet again the wrong filter for me, a knowledgeable associate at OReilly Auto figured out that the filter I needed was the one from the 2006-series. Ordered it and fit like a glove. Cost was $25.

I replaced mine with the Jaguar OEM part from the dealer for about $45.00. Please list the manufacturer and part number from O'Reilly if possible. Please confirm this is what you used:

WIX - Cabin Air Filter $24.99
Part Number: 49379
Line: WIX
  • 1 year limited warranty
  • UPC: 765809493797

I believe that is the one. Unfortunately, I don't have my receipt as it was several months ago. I know if you look up the 05 vs 06 filter, they are different models (the 06 dimensions are the larger of the two).

Default Same problem

Agreed. Get it from the dealer. I bought one from NAPA for my '04 VDP and it was too small. Got the correct one (Part # C2C6884) from the dealer for $18.05 USD.
