That sounds like a proper amount for a drain and fill, though some have gotten 7 quarts in after that long of a drain. You did run the shifter through the gears 3-4 times utilizing the whole gate for the final level check, correct?

WOW!
I read another post and he added fluid and measured temps, added more fluid and let some drain out, ---. Your post says 5 to about 7 quarts. Doesn't sound too critical, is it??

What fluid are you fellas using??
Is there a quality issue with the various available after market pans.
Are the filters all of good quality?

Curious

i did'nt run the shifter through 2-5--put it in drive-reverse 30 seconds each--yesterday morning ran the car 2-3 miles using all gears -refilled in afternoon-only a few more ounces --still shy of 6 liters ----i got all supplies from ca. trans supply--all oem---lots of money---what a crappy design so wasteful can't help but spill some (i'm a cheapskate).now ill have to do my 2010 f-150 same style but it does have a little baby dipstick

The running through the gears procedure needs to be done just before the fill and at the proper temperature and the car left running the whole time, though if you don't have any unusual shift behavior you're likely to have the level correct.
