Default Last of the Daimler Super Eights

Here is my Daimler Super Eight, built in late 2008, I am told it is 2nd to last sold in the UK. Supplied new by the same Jaguar dealer to the Queen.
The Daimler name wasn't used in the US, but it is basically a fully optioned Super V8 with a few other touches like special wheels, boxwood inlaid veneers, Daimler logo stiched headrests and fluted grille.

This is my daily driver, so not afraid of customising it to my needs, despite it being such a rare car. I bought her in October and have already fitted a Caldoofy Intake, tinted windows, upgraded the subfoowers and extra sound deadening. The plan is to fit a smaller pulley, tune. Run 12s on the 1/4, like my last one did... Make it as nice as possible. The previous owner was on the UK forum and had kindly fitted the ACM and JagDroid, so pretty up to date in that regard.

As bought

Notice the center caps, these are unavailable from Jaguar. I lost one on the road a few weeks later, I nearly cried!

Interior:

Caldoofy intake fitted, new nuts of strut tops, ect

Steering wheel refurb

Windows tinted, bulbs replaced with Osran LED

Thanks to Caldoofy to the advice, I bought 2x Ground Zero 6.5 Subwoofers and a 2 Channel Pioneer Amp. SilentCoat sound deadening applied to parcel shelf and book area

A small enclosure was made, to be covered by the boot carpet

Dang, I haven't seen one with that kind of detail before and certainly never in person here. Thank you for sharing and congrats!

Hi Alec,
What a beauty! Did you have to modify the wheels when you deleted the centre caps? They look even better than standard, and no unobtainium caps to lose.
Did you have an electric rear window blind? Did you have to remove it to fit the subwoofers?
Regards
Pete M

I never expected to find you on here Alec - great that I can keep following your progress.

Those wheels look great, the diamond cut over the darker colour actually makes the car look a little more cutting edge and modern in my eyes.

Default Hubcaps Daimler vela wheels

Dear Alec,

do you still have at least one hubcap left?
as they are impossible to buy I am planning to 3d print them from scan of the original one.
1st of all for me, as I desperately want those wheels with caps, but also for others who look for replacements. Would you sell me one or borrow it for scanning? Best, royal8
