Getting a "light switch is off" notice. Not sure what or why. Got after the dealer had the car. Anyone had this or know what it is.Car seems fine otherwise from some random RP issue and CATS suspension fault messages.

 

It is shown when the light sensor senses that it is dark out and the light switch on the stalk is in the "off" position vs "auto" position. Someone at the dealer just turned the lights off. Dont you hate it when someone messes with your settings.

 

I sometimes turn the lights off on a customer car if I happen to need the KEY_ON_ENGINE_OFF to read, clear DTCs or configure something while the car is in the shop. The battery drains faster with unnecessary things ON.

I sometimes forget to turn the switch back to ON. I also turn the AUTO seat to OFF if I have to turn the ignition key ON and OFF repeatedly for a reason, ESPECIALLY if I am under the dash in front of the seat and it want's to CRUSH me when I reach up and turn the key. The seat will move forward with the door latch tripped to the CLOSED position to silence the 'door open chime'.

There are reasons to "mess with your settings' but it is not malicious.
