Mongoose cable with SDD
Folks, I am planning to get some tools to maintain 2004 XJ8 hopefully for some time. One of the tools on my list is Mongoose cable and SDD.
This is what I found on the web:

I would greatly appreciate if somebody with experience comment, if judging by description only, this will work for 2004 XJ8 VDP.
Does anybody has experience with these folks?
I will be greatfull for any input.

Looks like you will be needing TOPIX.with thie V131
The V130 is what many here use, with no need for TOPIX.
British Diagnostics sells a thumbdrive for about $100.
Their cables are clones, with mixed reviews.
Finding a genuine Mongoose cable, is another story.
$600 + shipping was their price, occasionally see a used one on ebay

You can program keys without using TOPIX???
Sorry, its my mistake if you can.
British Diagnostics add, says that you will need TOPIX.
So that's what i believed.
Claim to warranty their cables for a year.
But i had already acquired, a genuine Mongoose from Drew Tech
So the thumbdrive was all i purchased from them.
A friend who knows about coumputers, set it up for me.
Thankfully, as of yet, have not needed it.
