Default New XJ8 owner here.

Hey. Just got from purchasing a '04 XJ8. It isn't ready yet, they need to repair the headliner. Got a pretty good deal. Has 52K on with 2 previous owners. It's Ebony on Grey, still has select warranty until 01/11. I've been searching for a few months for a new car. Currently have an '03 Infiniti M45, and have been tired of it almost since I got it 3 years ago. Before that I had a '97 Q45, and thought that getting the M45 would be a good upgrade. For the last several months I've been looking for a European car. Before trying the Jaguar today, I thought the best was the BMW 745Li. But this beats it for ride quality. I'm a big guy so this feels a little tight but I'm happy with it. I was going to drive 2.5 hrs to look at a '04 XJR but wanted to look at this one first which was closer. The XJR I wanted to look at has 89K with no warranty and has ben in the shop off and on since it was originally bought, but serviced at one dealership. The XJ8 has had a few routing visits but nothing jumped out on the Carfax.
Got a few questions:
1. Is it possible to get a spare Key on Ebay and program it for the car?
2. Spare mats? Anyone make a good set?
3. Most up to date Nav DVD year?
4. Working on Bluetooth, think I may have found an answer.

Sounds like a nice car! I've the same car, only black/black. I don't think you'll tire of this one too quickly as you did on the Q45. Rs are very nice cars, but I've chosen the 8s every time. The N/A is easier to maintain. Depending where you live, less to insure and less to register. Where I live, the R is VERY hard to use the extra power without getting busted, or its too congested. Don't mean to bash Rs, they're a work of art.

You can program one side of an Ebay key, the remote buttons, but the physical key is not going to work w/o a new key blade, cut to match your lock, then security programmed so it will start the engine. But if a remote entry is all you need, it can be done. Make sure the Ebay key matches the frequency, they are by market.

Can't help with mats, but I know you can spend a lot to a little depending on your tastes (actually your feet).

There is one more DVD after the one in your car, as AIRC, but, from what I hear, it isn't much better as a nav. It will give you the clock as a still screen...and, it's expensive.

Original floor mats, especially the lambswool ones are expensive. Probably $500-700 a set.

Got a question. Trying to figure this whole thing out with the Bluetooth issue. The simple solution is to use the Jabra bluetooth that I use on my MB SLK which hangs over the visor and is able to send a signal via FM to the car stereo, along with the Skydock for Iphone. The problem is sometimes signal is better than other. Would love to find a better solution. The next step would be to install a bluetooth module to existing phone system. I have the holder for the phone and get the message that says phone in use message, so I think I have everything except bluetooth antenna. Would also use a Skydock for my Iphone Mp3's . The 3rd option would be to install a Parrot Bluetooth car kit to the car. HAs anyone done a self install for the Bluetooth car kit option?
