Default Nicks & Dings!

How do you feel about nicks and dings? Naturally, driving exposes the car to road hazards. But, what do you do to maintain a pristine vehicle on an economical basis?

If caused by someone else -

If done myself (only twice in 49 years driving) -

In both cases -

I've found 'painless dent removal' services to be very efficient and considerably lower cost than bodyshop repairs.

For the inevitable roadrash on the front bumpers then the Dr Colorchip system gives good results:

I used to use Chips Away annually when they used a tiny airbrush to spray paint into chips, then polish flat. They seem to have stopped that and use a brush now, which is not so good.

I have more recently used an independent bodyshop, I had the aluminium corrosion on boot lid and door corners done, and they repainted other small chips and polished out scratches at the same time.
