How many k,s on the clock and what sort of oil are you using?
My XJ8 is an 04 done 170,000k,s bought it with 162,000 couple years ago it had been dealer serviced
I don't know what the dealer used but it rattled a bit on start-up but did not use any oil
When I changed the oil I did go to a 10W50 PAO synthetic which is a true synthetic not a grade 5 base mineral so called synthetic
She has done 10,000 k,s since that service its about due again checked it twice in that time hasn't used a drop and no rattle on start-up either and the oil is surprisingly clean even after 10,000 k,s can still see the metal of the dipstick through the oil
The 10W50 might be a bit thick for winter in Biloxi but not for your summers
If you are doing short trips that changes things short trips use a thin oil so it gets around because it might not be getting up to temp
My XJ8 only does long trips at least 100 k trips minimum
Doesn't get under 20c here where I live even in winter summers are a different thing its already 10 days into autumn and its still 30c and still very humid every day
I use my scooter for local work cant bring myself to put the jag in trafic don't want to hate the car
I live right in town it took a year to put 1000,ks on the scooter if they made an electric scooter that could do 100k,s per hour and carry me 6,3 and 275 pounds I would get one LOL
