One day impression of my VDP
Hello again. If you've followed my threads, you know I'm anxious. You also know I bought an '05 VDP yesterday. I thought I'd let you know that I'm a bit less anxious now. I've put about 100 miles on it so far and let me tell you - I love it. I absolutely love it. It's beautiful, fast, and oh-so-smooth. I think you'd be interested to know that as I drove it home last night, a gal in the back seat of the car next to me snapped a cellphone pic. I thought she was taking a pic of me, but Mrs. Anxious said it was almost definitely the car.
Anyway, it is sooo beautiful, the interior is beautiful. It's quite a change to go back to a RWD V8 car, as it's been decades since I've had one.
As always, thanks to everyone for their input. Hopefully this will be a good, long relationship.
So far, I am SOLD.

The Vanden Plas are just hotness, I love the door panels, it's simplicity but just classic. We had an older 04 XJ8 but it just doesn't compare to the VDPs that my wife and I both own individually.
Throw it into sports mode, stiffens the suspension a tad and a bit more liveliness to the car . Enjoy it...the VDPs are the bomb!

Jimmy Me Boy,
I've had a 40+ year relationship with these cars and let me tell you that they have given me pleasure and joy 2nd only to that provided by the "trophy wife".
And, I'm not just saying that because she reads my stuff either.

Congratulations on your purchase! I bought my XKR-100 2-1/2 years ago (the first Jag for me) and have loved every minute of driving it...see my signature. I also love the lines of the XJs and am considering selling the XKR-100 to get a 2004 or newer XJ. Not sure if I will end up with a VDP, XJ8, or XJR but from what I've read, the VDPs are dearly loved by their owners.
