P2135 trouble code, TPS indicated
Anytime the revs drop below 1000 the "engine system fault" flashes at me, and the car goes into what some of you have called 'limp home mode", which I would call "limp to the shoulder if traffic will allow" mode. In heavy traffic, I would just prepare to be rear-ended and Kiss My *** Goodby! This just started one night late, right after my wife returned from a 200 mile round-trip , solo, since her Subaru is in the shop. I'm thanking my lucky stars that it waited until she had returned, and I was by myself at an exit from the interstate. If this happened 3 or 4 days earlier, I'd be a single man again with a serious alimony problem. I'm not usually one to throw parts at a problem without some investigation, but, after checking with the forum and the internet, I have a complete throttle body on order from Barrett with faster shipping.
My question, especially for you senior advisors, is to the sources of your solutions. Frequently the forum response is "You need a TPS. End of story". So did you get a sensor by itself? From where? Did you mean to advise "You need a TPS so order a new throttle body just to get one since they're unavailable as an individual part"?
I had the same trouble on my dear departed X308 but could afford to wait for shipping from China to get a TPS by itself.

Seems that i read somewhere on this site, what other cars used the same T P S.
Then installing, and setting the tension on its spring, is the next step.
Replacing the whole throttle body makes the dealer more money.
Regardless who installs it, the T P S sensor is installed with the spring tension set.
Any of the lesser parts changers, not a skilled mechanic is needed to install it.
