Default The Parking Lamp Challenge

I found an older thread re: the replacement of the parking lamps/bulbs but it is so relevant today.

I replaced the passenger side parking lamp bulb with some finesse and patience and apparently a lot of luck.. I got the socket back in taking about 8-10 minutes to do so. Not too bad for a first time replacement or so I've read.

Next:: The driver's lamp finally came out and I replaced the bulb. I finagled, cussed, skinned a couple of knuckles and finally got the bulb socket back where it belonged...but pushed it too far in the headlights housing. Now what? How the heck do I remove the gooched socket? The bulb is just to the right of the correct placement in the housing. Beer has not helped so I'm hoping one or more of out members have some ideas. Thanks.
