Default Phone for 2004 Vanden Plas
I just purchased a 2004 Vanden Plas and want to purchase the phone that will work for it. Any suggestions?

It shouldn't matter. Bluetooth is a standard, so any phone should work. Some of the advanced features, like the phonebook, etc, may not, but any phone is generations ahead of the car.

How do I get beyond the "The system does not have a phone fitted" prompt?

You need to install the phone system. This includes the mic, PSE module in the trunk and the bluetooth module in the console. Here is a link where I did mine: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...004-xjr-83505/
