Puddle of rainwater in rear passenger footwell and front pass footwell
hello, I have an 06 xj8. Gorgeous. Love it . Hasn't given me any trouble till now. For the past three rain storms, there has been rain water leaking into the pass footwells. Thought I had fixed it by cleaning debris from the pollen filter, but this past rainstorm out an inch of rain water in the footwell. I was thinking it was plugged sunroof drain, but after I saw water right under the door. Is it possible someone hit the side of my car and knocked off a drain in the door and that's what's causing it? Or is it sunroof drain? PS it isn't heater core or AC prob. It only happens when it rains. Thanks!

There is also an additional drain on the driver's side right where the driver's side windshield wiper arm attaches to the shaft. On mine there is no screen to keep small leaves or debris from getting in there and plugging it up. It may be plugged or it may have been pushed out of the hole as it's a rubber tube that empties out behind the left front fender liner. If it has come loose you'll have to remove the left front wheel, the fender liner and then put it back into its place by hand.
In fact if it's badly blocked you may have to do that anyway as any attempt to push somethi8jng down into it to push the plug out is very likely going to push the tube out as well.
Don't ask me how I know this<G>

Problem resolved
So the rainwater leaking into the floorboards has (hopefully) been resolved. We sent it to the dealer and they cleaned the sunroof drains for us. It costs some money, and I think if your able to do it yourself it's probably recommended. They said there was debris in those drains and they cleaned it. They said that this is the cause. I hope they got it right because it hasn't rained heavily yet to test out if what they did worked. Thank you to everyone that helped with their tips.
