Wow great for all that information guys well appreciated I haven't given up yet. It's going to be 90 and hot here today so I'm going to put a thermometer in the trunk and see how my temperature is and that will help make a informed decision also will run the pressure gauge into the interior of the car so I can monitor the pressure instead of on the bottle... I do plan on buying the bottle blanket remote opener I already have The Purge Kit I'm just holding off until I'm sure I want to keep it. It rarely gets above 90 here in Connecticut

I left the car out in the sun yesterday it was 91 degrees. The temperature ended up being right around 85 which is the exact temperature you want to keep the bottle at at all times for your 950 PSI so I would say the bottle will never get that hot if I leave it in the car all the time so that worry is over.. today it's only supposed to be 78 and sunny I'm going to leave it outside and check the temperature again. Also going to put the pressure gauge in the car so I know the temp and psi

Default Gauge

This is the gauge I mentioned. The sensor and transmitter go on the bottle where the gauge threads in. Then run the wire to the cabin. This A pillar gauge pod will be going in soon. Has Nitrous pressure, boost, and AFR.

Yeah I'm definitely going to do that too I'm about ready to try my nitrous tomorrow so I'm just going to do a quick hit and see how it works I'm sure I will love it it'll be a 75 shot start with I'll probably end up keeping it there for safety sake. Tell me more about that pillar pod Jazzy

Its just a universal A pillar 3 gauge pod, I'm taking my time to see if i can fit it in cleanly, run and hide all the wiring etc.... I gave my step son 20 bucks to wrap it in vinyl that matches the wood trim in my interior, a few minor spots are a little rough if you look really close, but otherwise it doesn't look bad, at least it matches.

Since i have the bottle heater and switch, this pressure gauge will be great for telling me when to turn on and off and not have to worry about checking the gauge in the trunk all the time.
Boost gauge, we have all gone without on these. Personally i like them and like to keep an eye on the levels and how they are affected by weather and other factors.

I think the AFR will be a good one to have just to monitor that Im not too lean and cooking anything, or running too rich, making sure the nitrous system is doing what it is supposed to do as far as fuel pressure and mixing. I'll post pics once i have it all done

Great thanks for the info. To me it seems like an AFR gauge on anything over 75 horsepower nozzle is a must. I was thinking that if you run cam2 race fuel or turbo blue we could probably run hundred or hundred 25 shot without AFR gauge...

The nitrous is finally installed...Just have some final wiring cleanup to do...I am going to try it this weekend...So this is what I used: Zex 75/100/125 HP nitrous kit...Zex purge kit...Zex liquid filled pressure gage...Zex thermostatically controlled bottle blanket...Remote bottle opener...1 step colder spark plugs...To do it right this is what you need...Air fuel gage if you go over 100 HP...I am going to stick with the 75 HP to be on the safe side...Soooo If all goes well my quest for 450 HP will be over!!!

Well the XJR seems to love the nitrous! It works great and is very easy to use with all of the right components...Running the 75 shot with the pulley and intake gets it close to 500 HP which keeps most cars at bay....I am very happy with the extra power and pull it has now...I have all the pics of the installation and maybe will do a thread on it soon...75 HP for a grand is a bargain these days. Of course buying NOS adds up...Since XJRs have hardly any aftermarket performance parts, NOS is the best way to go

But for everyday performance it gets rather expensive rather fast. ID of just gone meth injection. I use window washer fluid for that. Cheap and effective. Not nitrous effective but good enough for me
If you cant tune for meth injection it is a waste of money...Slight benefits in hot weather due to cooler intake charge with the PCM pulling less timing...That's about it tho...I ran a bottle of NOS through my car already and the gains are easily worth the price of admission!

Went for a spirited ride in my XJR today. Purpose was to calibrate the compass in the inside rear view mirror.

It was such a nice day that I decided to try out a 0-60 run using my Passport Gt2 Timer.

As a reference the last time I did this before many of my mods was in july of 2016 where the Gt2 Timer registered 5.75 sec 0-60.

Today, a coolish dry sunny day, it registered 3.22 sec 0-60.

With DSC off and sport mode selected, same as last time, I snaked along a slight uphill road with tires screaming for at least 2 seconds but moving fast never the less. I went way beyond 60 without realising it I was too busy watching ahead and behind.

The tires I have on now are less expensive than my original.

The interesting bit for me is the comparison using the same device for measurement.

Can the iCarsoft i930 be set up to measure and record MAF g/s readings?

If so I will try a few runs using that in 2nd gear.

Sounds like the 5.75 is high and the 3.2 is low you would need 600 horsepower to do 3.2 0 to 60 and drag radials to go with your LSD

Correct.

However I am looking at the difference/gain in performance between the 2016 and current readings not any absolute value.

The numbers seem very skewed to me. Not sure of the accuracy of that device.
