Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and just purchased a 2004 XJR after having owner an XJ8 back in 2006, I just had to have another Jag.,

My question is this; is there a setting that will give me an audible chirp or horn honk when the key fob is used to lock and unlock the doors? I've read in the manual something about this but all it says is "if activated".

Any thoughts. Thanks, happy to have you all to bounce ideas off of.

04 XJR would be the x350 forum, not the x308. x308 is 98-03 XJ's. I don't know about the x350, but the x308's had it set by the dealer I believe, so it would need dealer-level interfaces to change that setting. There may be a way to change it more easily on the x350. Does the alarm work if you press the headlight button on the fob 3 times within 3 seconds? Could be that it's just the alarm sounder isn't working if you have no alarm at all.

 

This is a configuration option, but yes you will need SDD (Jaguar dealer software) to change this. You can get a cable and the software yourself, there are a lot of threads with options on how do this.
