Default Quick help needed please

I haven't searched, only because I am literally still trying to get started unpacking. On my 06 XJ8, all of a sudden the HVAC fan won't blow. I have looked in the owner's manual and checked all the fuses listed and they are all good. The touch screen shows that the fan motor is on it's highest setting, but no fan is turning. The car has sat for the last week or 10 days, but I don't know how to get it running.

Is there are reset? I can hear the blend doors moving from hot to cold, but that is all the action I am getting right now.

Thanks in advance,
UnklFungus

Here are pics you wanted, you remove the glove box assembly and its mounted in the air duct above the blower assembly directly behind the glove box..

I just realized I got the year wrong. It is an 04 XJ8, if that makes any difference.

Thanks,

Do I remove the glove box assy by undoing the screws on the bottom of the GB hinge or do I undo the nuts holding the hinge on? Which is the best way?

Fungus, I can PDF you the disassembly instructions from the 2005 version of the JTIS. If you want get the parts on the way, you can be ready to tear it apart when they arrive.

In fact, the CD is a good investment, you should consider picking one up from ebay...here's a link to the version that has your 04+ XJs...be careful, not all CDs have the latest XJ.

Please do, the car belongs to my sister and if I do it myself, I'll save her a bunch of money, which would help her out. I'll look into the CD, thanks.

Just want to verify: are you saying that the JTIS CD for the 2004(.5) is the last and most current version available? That doesn't really surprise me but I'd like to be sure.

Also, H20boy mentioned that all CD's might not cover the 'latest XJ'; how doe one know what is the correct CD for an '06?

I see several on Ebay and what to make sure I buy the right one!

just make sure the list of vehicles covers up to MY 2004 XJs, if it doesn't say if it does...don't get it.

That is the last CD available, after that, the source went online thru server database only, so us outsiders can't have access.

Many of the basics will be the same for years 04 and up, but just use it with caution, don't take it as gospel as the model years get newer from the 04.

That isn't strictly true, it is available on-line from Jaguar if you don't mind paying.

It was at JaguarTechInfo but is now at:

http://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com

JaguarTechInfo seemed to be free for a week or two at the end (possibly a mistake) so I had a good look at the X350 manual and there are, as you say, many changes as you go through the years.

I too am having a problem with my blower. 04 XJ8. No air. I removed the blower. Switched it off then turning air on. Motor turned for 1 sec. Removed electric connection and checked voltage. 10 volt when switching air on then 1 volt within 1 second. While disconnected. Do I need a new blower and do you have one? Thanks.
