Rattle in the front end
When I bought my 04 XJR a couple of months ago I noticed a jingling or rattling in the front right wheel area. I thought it might be the center cap on the wheel. I replaced both front shocks (previous post) and over the last couple of weeks I now notice it from both front wheels. I say wheels, but I don't really know where it's coming from. I thought maybe it was loose brake pads. It is suspension or at least bump related. You don't hear anything if the road is smooth. It is not from the engine as it is not throttle related. It happens over any bump.
I pulled both front wheels and inspected the outer suspension and steering components. Nothing seems loose.
Anything obvious I am not thinking of?

I purchased an '04 VDP one month ago and just noticed the same rattle in my front end as well. I just had it in the dealership to have a software refresh for a rough shift in 1st-2nd (fixed it and now shifts beautifully) and asked them to troubleshoot the rattle. It turns out the car has aftermarket brrake pads that are causing it due to a loose fit. There is no safety concern, but replacing rotors and pads next week. Will let you know if that resolves the issue...
I tried lightly applying the brake while driving down the road and the rattling pretty much goes away. Sounds like it might be my brake pads too. Mine aren't aftermarket. Any ideas on a fix?
