Replaced coolant pump and fitting at bottom of coolant overflow tank is leaking
Replaced aux cooling pump. Replaced o ring in bottom fitting. Slow drip before and new o ring didn't help. Any ideas. Will search for thicker replacement oring
I've read somewhere that the hose point at the bottom of the tank is delicate, especially with age, and cracks with any stress or pull. You'll probably need a new tank. I dunno if you can whack it with some kind of compound around that area or not, or how reliable that would be.
Hi ryejag,
Cracks in the tank are not uncommon. Also, the small hose nipple(s) on the top of the reservoir crack and leak coolant down the side of the reservoir and it drips off of the bottom near that lower hose.
You don't have the year and model of your Jag in your signature, but Rock Auto has aftermarket reservoirs starting at under $35.00, and they usually come with a new fluid level sender.
Cheers,
Don
