I suggest you find a local (classic car) trimmer. He can remove it, repair it and replace it.

It will not be a cheap job but it will be good.

Ideally someone who works for himself.

I need a new headliner too. There are descriptions of doing it on the X308 forum. For our cars the back sea ha to come out. Seeming not a difficult job, just tricky.

I have done it and it is not that difficult although I would recommend two people do it as putting new material back in place is quite tricky as the glue
sticks very quickly so you do not want to "mis-position it".

You do have to take down the sunroof frame to get out the slider.

The material is available on Ebay.

Polymat 797 Hi Temp Spray Adhesive 20oz Can high temperature headliner glue 160
Jaguar XJR Type Auto Headliner Material Fabric 1/8" Foam Back - Lt Tan 120" from Headlinermagic

Others in this forum have found experienced shops to do the job for very reasonable prices I should add.

A shop in Houston, Stiches Upholstry, Hwy 6, replaced my headliner and they did a great job. Not sure how I would have taken the liner out myself.

IIRC, Tberg over in the X150 XK forum was getting custom headliner materials for some of the guys & gals in that section. Might be worth a PM to see if he can get you set up. There should be a thread on it there too

I am still deciding whether to use either suede of knit cloth. I suppose I should do the rear shelf while I am at it. Any tips on shelf removal after the rear seat is out? I have the VDP sun blind.
