Replacement Touchscreen
Dear Forum,
My touchscreen has delaminated and occasionally, it delays starting up altogether. I have the full audio/nav etc spec but with the cassette player and the CD stacker in the boot.
I am a total novice in these matters and accordingly, I would very much appreciate any comments from the many tech gurus who inhabit this forum regarding the suitability of the following link as a replacement:

No point me looking at Jagdroid with an existing delaminated screen, so can the existing screen simply be replaced with aftermarket, please?

Last time I looked at the JagDroid information, the touch screen is replaced by an updated one with higher resolution. The original is quite an old spec, of about 2000 vintage. The replacement screens are not very expensive.

Upon re-examining the Jagdroid website I see that you are correct. However, assuming I read it correctly (not a given!), the full version does not work with my cassette-player set-up and the BT version only permits bluetooth music and utilises the existing (failed) screen? It is also unable to use steering wheel volume/skip controls?
I already have a system by way of a connection at the Aux In of my rear entertainment console which runs behind my rear armrest, under the rear seat and the tunnel carpeting and behind the plastic trim of the center console and gives a virtually invisible link to my iPhone on my dash facia for playing music (the iPhone is powered from the glovebox, and the cable is also well hidden); again, I am unable to use steering wheel volume/skip controls. I also have a Garmin Navigator with MENA updates for my navigation.
In both of the Jagdroid cases, I would need to send my existing touch screen assembly to the UK and pay for its return and the overall cost would then be higher than that quoted in the link I gave above?
Pete M, in all honesty, if I could simply replace the actual touch screen element of my existing assembly, that would suffice for me for now? You say that replacement screens are not that expensive, where could I find one, please?
Thanks again for your reply.

I wonder, it you contacted Ben Willcox, whether he could help you with the specs of a replacement touchscreen? I am sure that these screens are available from China at a good price once you know what to look for.
