Default Reset Parking Sensors after Battery Disconnect

Hey all,

I just need some quick tech advice. The car dealer put a new battery put in my XJR the day that we bought the car. This messed with the parking sensors and it would do the 3 second long beep thing. As part of the deal of purchasing the car they had to send the car to Jaguar Dealer in order to do another upgrade as well and the Jaguar dealer simply did something to reset the parking sensors and they worked great again. Unfortunately, I had to disconnect the battery the other day and now the parking sensors don't work again. It just beeps when you put the car in Reverse or Drive every time.

Does anyone know this reset procedure??

Same problem. Have to move until bump the wall now or alarm sound on a car I hit. Please heeelp!

We will have to check on that, I have disconnected my batteries several times and have had no problems with the reverse sensors.

I suspect you have got a mangled story re the sensor reset.

A 3 second beep means you have a failed sensor.

You can read the codes to determine which one or replace each sensor

in turn with a new one.

You can also try to listen to each one for a clicking noise and replace the one

not clicking.

The frustrating part is that I just got it back from Jaguar from this very problem. It was of course working perfectly until I disconnected the battery. And it only manifested itself the first time after the battery was replaced. I will try a few of the techniques to check them this weekend and try to pull the code.

So, apparently it just reset itself and started working on its own with no interference from me. No reset or magical solution necessary.

Wish I knew what caused it but glad that I don't have to fix it.
