Default Rough shift approach

I recently purchased a nice 2004 XJR that shifts roughly between first and second gear, especially under load. Shifts between all other gears are good. It happens even if I’m in Sport mode or using the J-gate. The previous owner said he took it to a the closest Jag dealer (two hours away) and they said it was fine and “adjusted” it and changed served the transmission. I don’t have documentation though. To me, it’s a noticeable bump but still an annoyance. My question is, what’s the best approach to get it resolved? I doubt a local generic transmission place could handle anything if it gets into electronic mapping and reprogramming but I have had good luck there with ther vehicles (BMW). My local foreign car service seems to know what they’re doing but grossly overestimate any services. They recommended transmission replacement on my BMW problem that the local transmission shop fixed. Is this bump normal or should it be buttery smooth? Any suggestions on what to ask for and expect are welcome. Thanks

The trans & engine modules cooperate so in case it's the problem have a look at your fuel trims. Especially at idle fully warmed up.
